I recently recorded some short pieces for BBC Radio Jersey which explore some of the themes from my forthcoming book Twenty-Five Astronomical Observations that have Changed History.
In this book, I am hoping to combine practical observation with the science of what we see, and why these particular objects - stars, planets, galaxies - have mattered in history and culture.
Here are the two of the audio pieces (as mp3 files). I will post others in the next few days.
The first is on the face of the Moon, and is an introduction to the theme of the book.
The second explores the Andromeda Galaxy, on the limit of naked eye observing.
